Understanding DISC

What is DISC?

The DISC assessment is a behavioral profiling tool based on the theory developed by psychologist William Moulton Marston in 1928. Unlike personality tests that try to label you as one "type," DISC recognizes that everyone is a unique blend of four behavioral styles.

D

Dominance

Focuses on accomplishing results, getting to the bottom line, and achieving goals. Direct, decisive, and competitive.

I

Influence

Prioritizes relationships, persuasion, and enthusiasm. Outgoing, optimistic, and collaborative.

S

Steadiness

Values cooperation, sincerity, and dependability. Patient, reliable, and team-oriented.

C

Conscientiousness

Prioritizes quality, accuracy, expertise, and competency. Analytical, reserved, and systematic.
